Business purpose

BeatSwipe is a free web platform for music producers to share a swipeable beat portfolio via their Instagram bio link. Fans swipe beats, save favorites, and buy on the producer’s own store or website. BeatSwipe takes no cut. A public sample page is available at beatswipe.app/p/demo.

Disclaimer

BeatSwipe is a discovery and showcase platform only. We are not a party to license or purchase agreements between buyers and producers. All transactions take place on the producer’s linked store or website. We do not guarantee the availability, quality, or legality of user-uploaded content. The public demo page uses sample audio that is not for sale.

Copyright & content

BeatSwipe branding, design, and code are protected by copyright. Producer beats, samples, and preview audio remain the property of their respective producers. Producers are responsible for ensuring they have the rights to upload and distribute their content. Sample audio on the public demo page comes from royalty-free libraries (currently Pixabay) and is shown only as a product example — it is not a producer catalogue and not for sale.

Terms of use

BeatSwipe is a free service. By creating an account or uploading content you agree to these terms:

• You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure.
• Producers retain ownership of their beats. By submitting a beat you grant BeatSwipe a non-exclusive licence to host, display, and stream the preview on beatswipe.app (your public portfolio page and, where unlocked, Discover) until you remove it or delete your account.
• You may not upload illegal content, malware, full masters marketed as previews, or material you do not have the rights to share.
• The producer name “demo” is reserved for the public sample page.
• We may review, reject, or remove beats and suspend accounts that violate these terms or applicable law.
• We may change or discontinue features with reasonable notice on the site. The service is provided “as is” without warranties beyond mandatory consumer rights under Austrian law.

Applicable law

Austrian law applies. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence remain unaffected where applicable.

Dispute resolution

The European Commission provides a platform for online dispute resolution (ODR): ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are not obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

2. Overview

We process personal data only as needed to operate BeatSwipe — account login, producer profiles, saved favorites, and beat uploads. We do not sell your data and do not use advertising cookies or third-party ad trackers. We use Vercel Web Analytics (cookieless, anonymized page views on our own domain) to see which pages are visited.

Producers see aggregate counts of portfolio page views, saves, and buy-link clicks for their own page only. These stats do not identify individual visitors and are not shared with ad networks. The public sample page (beatswipe.app/p/demo) is not tracked.

3. Data we collect

• Account: email address and password (stored hashed by our auth provider — we never see your plain password), or Google sign-in (name, email, profile photo from Google)
• Profile (producers): producer name, bio, avatar image, social links (Instagram, TikTok, Spotify, BeatStars, Airbit, SoundCloud, YouTube)
• Favorites: beats you save to your account
• Beat uploads: metadata (title, genre, BPM, buy link to your store or website) and MP3 preview files you submit
• Technical: IP address and server logs from our hosting provider (for security and operation)
• Local storage: login session, swipe progress, cookie preference, invite flag, guest save hint (stored in your browser)
• Portfolio stats (producers only): anonymous event counts (page views, saves, buy clicks) — no fan names or emails. Not collected on the public demo page.
• Site analytics: anonymized page views via Vercel Web Analytics (no cookies; visitor counts are hashed, not names or emails)
• Session storage: one page-view count per portfolio per browser session (deduplication only); producer sign-up intent while you complete invite / sign-up

4. Purposes & legal bases (Art. 6 GDPR)

• Account & favorites: performance of our service (Art. 6(1)(b))
• Producer profile & uploads: performance of our service (Art. 6(1)(b))
• Portfolio stats: legitimate interest in giving producers basic feedback on their page (Art. 6(1)(f)) — aggregate only, no visitor profiles
• Site analytics: legitimate interest in understanding which pages are used (Art. 6(1)(f)) — cookieless, anonymized, no advertising
• Sign-up: your consent to store your email (Art. 6(1)(a))
• Security & hosting logs: legitimate interest in operating a secure service (Art. 6(1)(f))

5. Processors (sub-processors)

We use trusted providers to run BeatSwipe. Each processes data only on our instructions:

• Supabase — authentication, beat catalogue, database, file storage (Privacy Policy)
• Google — optional sign-in only (Privacy Policy)
• Vercel — website hosting and cookieless Web Analytics (Privacy Policy, Web Analytics privacy)
• jsDelivr — delivery of open-source scripts and icons (Supabase client, Tabler icons, optional QR code) (Privacy Policy)

6. Third-country transfers

Some processors may store data outside the EU/EEA (e.g. USA). Where this applies, transfers are safeguarded by EU Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms offered by the provider.

7. Cookies & local storage

We use no tracking or advertising cookies. Essential storage includes:

• Supabase login session (localStorage) — required for signed-in features
• Swipe progress (localStorage) — improves your experience
• Cookie banner preference (localStorage)
• Private-beta invite flag (localStorage)
• Portfolio view deduplication flag (sessionStorage, one entry per real portfolio per session)

You can clear local data in your browser or via Profile → Clear local data. Signing out removes your login session. To delete your account and all associated data, use Profile → Settings → Delete account.

8. Embedded content & external links

Beat previews may load from YouTube or SoundCloud when you play or swipe a card. The public demo page streams sample MP3s from a royalty-free audio CDN (currently Pixabay). Those providers may receive technical data (e.g. IP address, device info) under their own policies. Buy links take you to the producer’s store or website — third-party sites we do not control.

9. Retention

• Account data: until you delete your account
• Server logs: typically up to 30 days (hosting provider default)
• Beat uploads: while your account exists (new uploads go live immediately). Items held for review until approved, rejected, or deleted
• Portfolio stats events: retained while the producer account exists; deleted when the account is deleted
• Site analytics (Vercel): aggregated page-view data in the Vercel dashboard (Hobby: typically ~1 month of history)

10. Your rights

Under GDPR and Austrian DSG you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Rectify inaccurate data
• Delete your data (“right to be forgotten”)
• Restrict or object to processing
• Data portability
• Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior processing)
• Lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (dsb.gv.at)

11. Children

BeatSwipe is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
